Best Butcher’s in the Country

I was first introduced to Alderson Butcher’s back in the mid 1990’s when Derek Alderson was still in charge and a young Nigel was becoming more involved with the running of the business. The family run business always made you feel special as soon as you walked through the doors. You were always provided with the best product for what you required. You could get advice on the most appropriate and economical cuts of meat for what you needed. With part of my family living down South, I have always been asked to bring down some sausages or lamb chops or some black pudding - the requests are endless. They are great for everything from big celebrations to a dinner for two. We wouldn’t be without them.

Great quality meat

I’ve been a customer at Aldersons for a few years now. The quality of the meat is the best in Darlington. We’re discerning meat eaters and could be considered fussy re cuts of meat and fat content. I’ve found making it clear what I want, even rejecting something I’m not happy about has enabled the butchers to understand my needs. During the pandemic Nigel and his team went to extraordinary lengths to enable our family to eat well. The eggs are excellent. The ready made stuff (stir fry, prepared potatoes etc) is well worth trying. Sausages and burgers are good quality and good value. I really like that the staff know me and understand my needs. I can recommend this butchers, whatever you buy you won’t be disappointed.
